Quick Start Guide
Get up and running with ForgePoint in minutes. This guide will walk you through installation, hardware setup, and your first vehicle connection.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure you have the following:
- •A Windows PC running Windows 10 or later. Check Downloads page for full system requirements.
- •A J2534-compliant interface device with GMLAN Support (MDI, VXDiag, etc.)
- •A compatible GM vehicle (2009-2018)
- •ForgePoint account with active credits
Installation
Step 1: Download ForgePoint
Download the latest version of ForgePoint from the official website.
Download ForgePointStep 2: Install Hardware Drivers
Install the drivers for your J2534 interface device. Most devices come with their own installer. Follow the manufacturer's instructions.
Step 3: Launch ForgePoint
Run the ForgePoint installer and follow the on-screen instructions. Once installed, launch the application and sign in with your account credentials.
First Connection
Connect your J2534 device to your computer via USB, then connect it to your vehicle's OBD-II port. Ensure the vehicle is in accessory mode (last click of ignition before car turning on).
Pro Tip
ForgePoint allows you to save your default chosen J2534 device for future sessions. Found in Settings > Devices.
